Isn't It Wonderful?

Perhaps the only thing unusual on this fine Autumn day--amidst the trumpeting of jovial jazz music, dancing maidens covered in rubies, and copious amounts of the finest dishes made by the finest chefs--was the blood-curdling scream of a young man who was barely twenty.
It was a short while after the horrifying sound ceased (and let me tell you it lasted /quite/ the while) when the tall and rather majesticifImaysay man, calmly seated in his chair, raised his palm. "I think that's about enough. He seems dead to me; don't you think, Drae?"
This was only met with the growl of a monster whose hunger was unsatisfied.
"Now, now, you mustn't damage him too much. The boy had an admirable set of lungs! Plausibly it was the best screaming I'd ever heard. So come now," the seated man waved his immense hand dismissively, "enough with the blood and the /ripping/ and the scattering of lower intestines. Take him to Medical North if you would be so kind, see if they have a use for him."

Hesperos was a bit miffed by the sound of a corpse being dragged out the door. It didn't synchronize with the jazz emitting from the next room at all. He believes a fine is in order.
After all, wasn't it considered suicide to even think of seeking an audience with him?

Okay, yes, Hesperos is one of the "top ten". First and foremost: He is corrupt. I'm sure you can tell. BUT ROSE, you may wonder, WASN'T HE ALWAYS CORRUPT?
My answer is nnnnnnno. In the past, Hesperos was merely chaotic, considering himself above worldly pleasures, and never really indulging to a fault. The ToaR Hesperos has succumbed to gluttony and laziness. Because he's in charge of aliens foreign affairs, he gets to do naughty things like /HEY I HEARD YOU HAVE NICE EXOTIC ANIMALS give some to us or else this means war/ and /NICE BOAT hand it over or this means war/.
Though naturally, he's far sneakier than that. Otherwise he would be getting in a lot of trouble, non?

And when I say a lot of trouble, I mean a LOT of trouble. His overindulgence in mortal food, wine, and treasures have rendered him very much less powerful than his original self. He's lost pretty much all his supernatural abilities over time, and now has nothing but his long lifespan, his charming good looks and lanky form, and a single talent he made sure to keep hold of.
That would be deleting memories.

See, more likely than not, Hesperos talked his way into his position using Drae as either a piece of bribery, or a threat. The only way he could use Drae in such a way was to kill the only person who would get in the way--the only person Drae would obey over Hesperos--Drae's brother Phobos.
And Hesperos did so quite cheerily.
The problem after that is that Drae would be quite angry if he found out, and likely try have some revenge. And thaaat's where the memory loss magic comes in. Drae doesn't even know he has a brother anymore. However, in Hesperos's weaker state, should Drae be cured of his mild amnesia....
But I will warn you to keep in mind that this is not common knowledge. Drae's brother is not of this world, and has never set foot in it. Drae is likely not the only one who doesn't know Drae has a brother.




MISC:

-He openly expresses sheer disgust towards all things religious, when before he would have just laughed.
-His private dimension behind his magical eye collapsed, so he has no more quick storage. In fact, he had to have said magical eye removed, because it annoyed him with its incessant bleeding.
-He pretty much looks the same, save for the missing eye (I'd give him an eyepatch but he'd look funny) and fancier manner of dress. HE'S NOT FATTER, unfortunately. Hesperos just doesn't feel like Hesperos unless he's the skinnyass bastard I know and love. But I'll at least say you can see the bones through his flesh should you strip him. <3
-Should he need to go out, you can bet your dirty bloomers that Drae will be one of the guards attending him. Not only is Drae his personal bodyguard, he has Drae do alllll his dirty work.~
-Also, he knows cane-fu. He had to learn /something/ to try to protect himself. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY.




The other two (because I don't wanna upload them separately):

Drae is a pace monster. You'll always find him pacing. Aside from that, he is NOT friendly and is incapable of making friends. He will snarl at you if you make eye contact. Try to touch him and he'll eat your hand.

Rose is just a guard who's been around for a while. She still would think of many people as her friends--including a certain Miss Nico the Insane Rebel--and is beginning to wonder if anything she does is "right". She's only her usual flirtatious, sassy self with close friends in Cainan. Aaaand this flirtatious sassy self is a front, because that part of her died when she first killed someone, which was a long, long time ago.
